Prosecutor: Police Nab Manville Gunman, 20, In North Brunswick

A 20-year-old gunman from North Brunswick was arrested for firing his gun in Manville earlier this month, authorities said Monday.

Kevin Salmeron fired about 10 shots near North 6th Avenue around 3:25 a.m. on June 20, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Chief of County Detectives John W. Fodor and Manville Borough Chief of Police Thomas Herbst said.

Arriving officers canvassed the area but did not find a shooter. No injuries or property damages were reported to be sustained.

Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit detectives and Manville officers identified Salmeron as a suspect, and arrested him on June 24 around 2 p.m., authorities said.

Salmeron has been charged with second-degree aggravated assault, second-degree unlawful weapon possession and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon without a permit.

He was lodged at the Somerset County Jail pending a bail detention hearing in this matter.
